woah mama it's been a little over a year since i last posted here OOPS, but i had a relatively busy 2025 so i just haven't had the time to sit down and do some long-form writing u~u but as always it's time to drop a bunch of updates and things i have planned for the year here!!

first off i'll talk about my new room progress, since i mentioned it in my last entry! i have FINALLY... half-moved into my new room LOL. most of my things have moved in except for my bed — which will move in eventually — but i still have a lot more things to clear out from underneath it in my old room and store in my new room before the bed can move in. everything else such as my desk, my pc, my bookcases and alllll of my merch collections have moved in though!! also the room layout i put together and posted pics of in the last entry has changed quite a bit, but the cyber futurism theme has stayed the same. i don't have many pictures of my new room Just yet since I'm still working on it, but i did take a couple pictures of my new desk setup recently which i will post down below! i'm very happy that i finally got my dream pc fans and a nice new 2nd monitor to turn vertically hehe

long time no posts~

just wanted to make an update post since my last one was in may!! this year's been a bit crazy health and life-wise so i haven't felt like i had the time to gather my brain matter enough to write out a full blog post until now rhjhdfbgj but i'll just get straight into the updates, there's been quite a few things!

firstly, at the end of my last post i mentioned that i was getting new bookcases, and i GOT EM!! 3 new ones, all white ikea billy bookcases but in different sizes. decorating them with all of my collection stuff has been a Nightmare of a project, i've swapped things around and swapped things out several times to find a layout i'm happy with o|-< but i feel like i'm getting close to the final arrangement... i do still need lots of things such as plastic sleeves for prints & such that i want to stick to the insides of the shelves, small adhesive hooks to hang charms off of and things to lift certain figures & merch higher up in the back of my shelves as to not completely block all visibility of them with stuff in front <:3 the next items of furniture i need to replace in my room are my chair, my wardrobe and my bed frame, and finding drawers and a bed frame that i want has been SO difficult... i still haven't found anything that looks like what i want yet... (this is fine though, i currently can't afford either of them right now LOL)

another thing i wanna talk about is... sonic symphony london!!!! i went last month and it was amazing *_* i was so upset that i couldn't go to the show last year as i was in japan at the time, but when they announced it was coming back this year i grabbed my ticket as fast as i possibly could 🏃‍♂️ though i did end up selling my original ticket and moved seats to sit with my friends instead! the vibes were immaculate and i got a light stick which i'm very happy about because i love collecting light sticks from concerts i've attended =) the sonic symphony one has SO MANY colour options and a button that makes the light flash through all of the colours as well! it came so in handy when Reach For The Stars played haha, i'll do a dedicated post about the concert at some point where i go more in depth about how the day and show went, especially as i took a lot of videos and some pics that i want to compile into a long video for my youtube channel!!

speaking of concerts, i will be going to miku expo london next week!! it'll be my 3rd miku expo (2nd time with a VIP ticket) and 4th miku concert overall as i went to magical mirai in tokyo last year!! miku expo has had   quite a few issues this year... LED screens and extremely delayed merch shipments... but i'm looking forward to it nonetheless, i will put up with anything if it means i get to see miku... and since i got the VIP ticket i'm hoping to get there early to secure a good spot and take lots of videos to make another Big video like i did with miku expo in 2020! 💙

some other updates i want to mention are website / social media based. i have moved from neocities to nekoweb! it's still an empty wip for now, but due to neocities' creator being a bit Too interested in generative AI for my liking i have decided to take my stuff as far away from that website as possible >:| i've also moved my art accounts away from twitter & instagram for the same reason, and i will now be posting my artwork, crafts & vocal synth creations on bluesky! on top of that i've worked on a bunch of other bits & made new accounts on other sites, such as giving my carrd page a complete makeover and making a spacehey account, which i'll use to crosspost some of my blog posts from here onto. i won't be moving away from dreamwidth i just like having more options and websites to play with :^)

aaaaand i guess this also counts as an update but i will be getting my first ever scale figure soon... the hatsune miku 16th birthday one!! i saw her in person in japan last year and i grabbed her as soon as preorders went live, and she finally released yesterday 😱 i'm someone who buys a Lot of vocaloid merch but i've never bought a scale figure before, usually due to being really picky about the ones i like considering how expensive they are and also due to the amount of space they take up, but since i got my new bookcases i have a spot reserved just for this figure ^_^


that's it really!! it doesn't sound like much but i've really been so busy this year @_@ redecorating and purging my house of stuff that i no longer want to keep and also working again at the weekends has drained so much energy out of me ⚰️ next month is hopefully going to be a lot calmer and i should have more funds and time to work on other things that i've been meaning to work on for ages aha;; i'm also considering going to london gaming market next month if i can afford it! the tickets are suuuuper cheap so even if i can't afford to buy anything i may just attend anyway and make a day out of it~ but that's all my updates for now!! i'm thinking of making some smaller blog posts when i have time just to talk about some videogame nostalgia... man i love videogames...

i'm completely lost as to how this site works, as i just made an account on a whim after seeing a really cute layout on here (and because i was yearning for making blog posts again like i used to many, many years ago...) but i suppose i should make an introduction post for myself regardless aha <:'3

my name is jay, but i also go by the nickname "nights" online! 👽
also my pronouns are he/him!

i am a 25 year old artist and cosplayer from england! i've been drawing ever since i learnt how to walk and i was always very fond of dressing up in costumes as i was growing up, but i officially got into cosplaying and attending conventions in 2009. i have worked at conventions a few times as a sales assistant, but i have always really wanted to start tabling at cons with my own art and handmade accessories someday! at the moment i make art prints, stickers, badges, and accessories and jewellery with pony beads, but i would love to branch out in future and make even more things with other materials and methods. i'm super into fashion, particularly styles such as y2k futurism and decora to name a few, and prefer to create casual cosplay looks for characters rather than fully cosplay nowadays (then i can represent my favourite characters on an almost daily basis instead of only wearing a costume to events a couple times a year heheee)

i'm also a lifelong gamer and collector! the first game i ever played was the original sonic the hedgehog on the mega drive back when i was a microbe of a child... i still have the covers from my old sonic 1 and 2 mega drive copies! ever since then i've been super obsessed with sonic and many other sega titles, particularly nights, space channel 5 and samba de amigo. other than sega IPs, i really love third person action games, social mmos/mmorpgs, rhythm and arcade games. i'm especially drawn to games that have character customisation.
i love to collect merch of all my favourite things, both official and fan made! i'm always hunting for merch new and old that i do not own yet, and i love to support other artists and small businesses by buying fan merch or commissions! ✧･:₊·

lastly, i am a huge fan of vocal synths! discovering vocaloid and hatsune miku back in 2007 rewired my brain permanently, which led me to create my own mikumikudance and figma stop motion videos; and then my own utau in 2010 named BOBBI! they are one of my many many many ocs. also despite mostly owning several pieces of merch of miku, my actual favourite vocaloid is sf-a2 miki LOL


as for my future on dreamwidth, i would like to somewhat consistently post updates about things! (<- very forgetful) i hope to at least post some art and craft updates when i have something new finished and ready to post, some fashion things, travel diaries and vlogs, and a lot of gushing about my ocs and all time favourite franchises and media. i would actually really love to use this site as some sort of an archive for my merch collections? just a bit of everything and anything to look back on in the future someday, and for anyone else who stumbles across my blog ( ´ ω ` )... given that this website doesn't ever go down or anything and loses everything to the void, since we all know how much of a nightmare internet archiving has been lately LMAOOOO,, i also really want to customise my blog's layout and make it look nice eventually too :D i know i have a lot of ideas constantly bouncing around in my skull i have issues and problems
